The Alum Rock Village Business Association (ARVBA), was created in October 2022 in Partnership with Alum Rock small business owners, the Latino Business Foundation Silicon Valley (LBFSV), the City of San Jose’s Office of Economic Development, and the District 5 Councilmember Office, our work began with Councilmember Magdalena Carrasco, and our collaboration has continued with Councilmember Peter Ortiz.

Given these historically under-resourced small businesses' challenges, close collaboration and shared resources were instrumental in providing right-sized support. Together, these anchor Partners identified key needs for the prosperity of the Alum Rock small business community, such as a collective voice on small business advocacy, technical assistance, and access to information (such as compliance information and public sector funding opportunities).
